I’m sitting on my floor surrounded by piles of books and belongings acquired over a lifetime. So. Much. Stuff.
Well, it looks like this escapade is happening. After almost 30 years working a 9 to 5 for local government, taking the pay check and the hassle that comes with it and passing the majority on to the bank and other services we have now handed our notice in at work and quit our jobs.
If you’ve read the prologue you will know that our little test drive trip to Cambodia and Thailand went well. We have now reshuffled our plans. Originally we were going to work another 10 years and then retire at 60 to travel but we were concerned about what state we would be in at 60? Would we be able to travel and actively enjoy it? Would we even still be here?
So a decision was made to implement the plan now. Notices have been handed in at work and plans are being made. So many lists of tasks that we have a few months to try and plough through then we are off! We are doing it!
And all these books and stuff have to go, we are having the sort out I never thought I would need to do and then we will be setting off on hopefully the adventure of a lifetime.
39 days left in work. 39 days to sort out a lifetime of stuff and then we will be setting off.
